The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition, Gurdaspur is a premier hotel management college in India, functioning as a Central Autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Established in 1994 under the Societies Registration Act, the institute is strategically located on the Amritsar–Pathankot National Highway (NH-15), just 5 km from the Gurdaspur bus stand.
Ranked among the top hotel management institutes in India, IHM Gurdaspur is one of the 21 Central IHMs set up by the Ministry of Tourism with the objective of training young aspirants to meet the growing demand for skilled manpower in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida (an apex body under the Ministry of Tourism), and the institute offers cutting-edge hospitality education and ensures industry readiness.

Kitchen Labs
IHM Gurdaspur features 8 state-of-the-art training kitchens equipped with modern indigenous and imported culinary equipment. These labs provide hands-on experience in culinary arts, enabling students to master techniques essential for careers in hospitality and hotel management.
Training Restaurants & Bar
The institute offers three fully equipped training restaurants with a demo bar, where students receive practical exposure to various service styles, restaurant management, and the art of mixology. This real-world learning environment prepares them to excel in hospitality careers globally.
Accommodation Operations
Our accommodation operations training area includes modern suite rooms, an on-premise laundry, and a dedicated linen room. Students learn advanced housekeeping practices, ensuring they are industry-ready to manage accommodation services and provide exceptional guest experiences in leading hotels.

Our library houses an extensive collection of books, journals, and multimedia resources covering hotel management, tourism, and travel industry trends. Front Office & Computer Labs
The front office and computer training labs are designed to enhance students’ skills in hotel front office management. Through hands-on training on Property Management Systems (PMS), role-playing, and customer service exercises, students develop strong operational expertise, communication, and problem-solving abilities—key attributes for the hospitality industry.
