Institute of Hotel Management
The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition, Gurdaspur is a Central Autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India which was set-up in the year 1994 under societies registration act. The institute is situated conveniently on Amritsar–Pathankot National Highway-15 at about 5 Kms. from Gurdaspur bus stand.
This Institute is one of the other 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) in the country setup by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India with the primary aim to train young men and women in order to provide skilled manpower to the hospitality industry.
The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida (An apex body under Ministry of Tourism) for all Academic purposes.
The institute has been consistently ranked among the country’s premier Hotel Management Colleges in National level surveys by various agencies like Outlook, The Week and CSR-GHRDC etc. In 2025, India Today Magazine Rankings, Institute has been ranked second most improved Hotel Management College in Northern India & also recognized as one of the Top 10 Best Hotel Management Colleges in India. Additionally, the institute has been ranked 11th in The Week magazine survey and 6th Best Government Hotel Management College in India and first in the state of Punjab by GHRDC Survey..
